Nordic Affect, chamber ensemble

The chamber ensemble Nordic Affect was formed in 2005 to promote music from the 17th and 18th centuries as well as the performance of contemporary music. Its members represent the new generation of period instrumentalists who share the passion for viewing familiar musical forms from a different perspective as well as venturing into new terrain. Their performances in and outside of Iceland have ranged from the dance music of the 17th century to the exciting electronic compositions of today and have been received with great critical acclaim. NoA has performed for The Icelandic Broadcasting Service and The European Broadcasting Service. Their CD recordings on the labels Bad Taste Records, MusMap and Brilliant Classics have received glowing reviews as well as recognition from the Iceland Music Awards and the Kraumur award. The artistic director of NoA is Halla Steinunn Stefánsdóttir.

Nordic Affect, kammerensemble

Kammerensemblet Nordic Affect blev dannet i 2005 med henblik på at fremme musik fra det 17. og 18. århundrede samt opførelsen af ny musik. Ensemblets medlemmer repræsenterer den nye generation af musikere specialiseret i opførelsespraksis. Musikerne deler en passion for at betragte velkendte musikalske former fra et nyt perspektiv og for at vove sig ud i ukendt terræn. Ensemblets koncerter på Island og i udlandet, som spænder sig fra dansemusik fra det 17. århundrede til nutidens spændende elektroniske kompositioner, er blevet modtaget med stor ros fra anmelderne. NoA har optrådt for Icelandic Broadcasting Service og European Broadcasting Service. Deres cd’er fra pladeselskaberne Bad Taste Records, MusMap og Brilliant Classics er blevet modtaget med blændende anmeldelser samt anerkendelse fra blandt andet Iceland Music Award og Kraumur Award. NoAs kunstneriske leder er Halla Steinunn Stefánsdóttir.
